Groups call for uniform voting standards

All Voting is Local Georgia and more than 10 civil rights organizations, including The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Campaign Legal Center, the Coalition for the People’s Agenda, and Black Voters Matter, called on Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and State Election Board members to establish uniform standards and provide funding to counties to fix widespread ballot processing problems, voting delays, and unsafe conditions at polling places for the June 9 primary. Georgia voters are being denied the right to vote privately, securely, and safely, the groups said. Voters are not receiving the mailed ballots they requested, are not being informed of election changes in a timely or inclusive manner, and have reported a lack of sanitation procedures at polling places.
