Federal judge throws out Republican lawsuit against Michigan redistricting commission

Voters Not Politicians received legal assistance from the Campaign Legal Center, a nonprofit focused on “reducing the influence of money in politics and to support unrestricted access to voting,” according to its website. “It is time for fair maps in Michigan,” CLC Vice President Paul Smith said in a statement. “Taking partisanship out of drawing electoral maps is critical to advancing the principles of accountability and transparency in government.”
