Ethics Committee Extends Review of Trahan’s Campaign Finances

The House Committee on Ethics announced Tuesday it will further pursue the investigation into U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan, who investigators say appears to have violated campaign finance laws during her narrow 2018 election victory. The extension itself does not indicate any violation has occurred and will be used to gather necessary information to complete the review, the committee stated in a press release issued late Tuesday afternoon. The Campaign Legal Center, another nonprofit watchdog group based in Washington, D.C., filed a complaint about Trahan’s campaign finances to the FEC in March.
