D.C. Watchdog Renews Call for Brian Kelsey Congressional Finances Inquiry

“Kelsey appears to have been part of a scheme to keep voters in the dark about the source of funds being reported in connection with his run for U.S. Congress in 2016," said Corey Goldstone, spokesperson for the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center. "The authorities should thoroughly investigate whether this unusual pattern of money transfers violates  law.”  The Campaign Legal Center and Democracy 21 filed a complaint in June 2017 with the Federal Election Commission and requested the Department of Justice investigate whether Kelsey’s congressional campaign committee engaged with the American Conservative Union, Citizens 4 Ethics in Government, Standard Club PAC and several state legislators to knowingly and willfully violate federal campaign finance laws.
