Complaint filed against second West Michigan contractor for super PAC donation

On Thursday, Feb. 21, Campaign Legal Center filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against Skytron LLC of Grand Rapids, according to a report from The Detroit News. Last fall, the complaint said, Skytron made a $10,000 donation to former U.S. Senate candidate John James’ super political action committee Outsider PAC. Because Skytron is a government contractor, the company is prohibited from donating to candidates or political action committees while a federal contract is negotiated or underway. In response to its most recent complaint, the Campaign Legal Center is asking the FEC to open an investigation into Skytron and “seek appropriate sanctions.”
