After scrutiny, US Rep. Cindy Axne supports ban on stock trades in Congress

In September 2021, the Campaign Legal Center asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate Axne and six other members of Congress for failing to properly disclose between $43,000 and $645,000 in stock trades. The group found Axne appeared to have made more than 40 total stock transactions in 2019 and 2020 that weren’t disclosed within the STOCK Act's required 45 days.
