Petteway Plaintiffs’ Emergency Application to Vacate Fifth Circuit’s Stay

On November 16, 2023, CLC filed an emergency application to vacate the Fifth Circuit’s stay of the district court’s injunction against Galveston County’s discriminatory county commissioners court map. Despite affirming the injunction, the Fifth Circuit has continued to extend a stay while the full court considers whether to overturn its precedent that compelled Plaintiffs’ win in this case.
