NVRA Notice and Records Request to Texas (2024)

Along with Texas-based and national partners, CLC sent a letter to Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson, putting the secretary on notice that systematic purging of voters from Texas rolls within the 90-day period before a federal election and targeting naturalized citizens for removal from the voter rolls violates the National Voter Registration Act. The letter demands that Texas immediately cease unlawful activity and asks that Texas promptly provide records as to recent removal of thousands of voters from the state’s rolls, given the potential for erroneous disenfranchisement of many Texas voters.
