Notice of Violation of NVRA and Demand for Remedial Actions and Documents

Along with national and Tennessee-based partners, CLC sent a letter to Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett, putting the secretary and other Tennessee officials on notice that systematic purging of voters from Tennessee’s rolls within the 90-day period before the November 2024 election and targeting naturalized citizens for removal from the voter rolls violates the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). CLC and partner organizations are demanding that Tennessee immediately cease its unlawful program targeting naturalized citizens and asks that Tennessee provide records about the development and implementation of the program, as required by the NVRA.
