McComish v. Bennett: Amicus brief filed by the Committee for Economic Development in support of Respondents
Amicus brief filed by the Committee for Economic Development in support of Respondents. Amici argue that the trigger mechanism used in Arizona’s Citizens Clean Elections Act, Ariz. Rev. Stat. § 16-940 et seq., promotes competition in public elections by providing a meaningful opportunity to compete for candidates who opt to receive public campaign financing in lieu of private funding. The result is a welcome increase in speech, not a limitation on speech.
