LWVMO and Missouri NAACP v. Missouri — Petition

The League of Women Voters of Missouri (LWVMO) and Missouri State Conference of the NAACP (Missouri NAACP) filed a lawsuit in Missouri state court challenging Missouri's law H.B. 1878’s restrictions on voter engagement activity because the provisions violate freedom of speech, freedom of association and due process protections of the Missouri State Constitution. The challenged provisions restrict the civic engagement groups’ ability to engage in protected political speech, including their ability to offer assistance with voter registration and absentee voting.
