Closing Letter - CLC Complaint to FEC Against de Blasio 2020, Fairness PAC, and NY Fairness PAC

In August 2019, CLC filed a complaint with the FEC alleging that Bill De Blasio; his 2020 presidential campaign, De Blasio 2020; Fairness PAC; and NY Fairness PAC violated federal law in connection with excessive and undisclosed in-kind contributions that Fairness PAC and NY Fairness PAC made to support de Blasio’s testing-the-waters and campaign activities, and testing-the-waters spending the De Blasio 2020 failed to disclose. On April 17, 2023, the FEC entered into a conciliation agreement with De Blasio 2020, Fairness PAC, and NY Fairness PAC that imposes a $53,100 fine and requires DeBlasio 2020 to amend its FEC reports to correctly report all information related to the contributions it received from Fairness PAC and NY Fairness PAC, as well as its unreported testing-the-waters expenditures and disbursements.
