CLC White Paper: Arizona’s Voters’ Right to Know Act to End Secret Spending in Arizona Elections
Campaign Legal Center has released a white paper detailing how Arizona Proposition 211, also known as the Voters’ Right to Know Act, is clearly constitutional, consistent with the First Amendment right to democratic self-government and Supreme Court precedent upholding campaign finance disclosure laws. By requiring disclosure of the original source of money used to pay for big campaign expenditures that seek to influence Arizona elections, Proposition 211 follows a long constitutional tradition of ensuring disclosure of critical election information to the public.
