CLC Alleges Dean Phillips’s Presidential Campaign Illegally Coordinated with Super PAC

On January 29, 2024, Campaign Legal Center (CLC) filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging that 2024 presidential candidate Dean Phillips’s campaign illegally coordinated with We Deserve Better (Better PAC), a federal independent-expenditure-only committee or “super PAC,” violating the federal campaign finance laws that prohibit such coordination. In addition, CLC’s complaint alleges that Better PAC is violating federal law by raising funds beyond federal contribution limits and source prohibitions while engaged in such coordinated election spending.
