An annual financial disclosure report filed by U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan this week offers additional detail on the congresswoman's finances, which have come under fire in complaints filed by two watchdog groups in recent months. The complaints filed by the Campaign Legal Center focus on the origins of campaign funding obtained in the final days before her narrow victory in the Democratic primary for the 3rd Congressional District. Corey Goldstone, a representative from the Campaign Legal Center, disagreed with this characterization. "In our complaint, we showed how Trahan's story has shifted over time," he wrote in a prepared statement. "This most recent filing doesn't justify her original story. We still feel that the Trahan campaign has violated federal law for failing to fully report loans, depriving voters of important information about the sources and amounts of money used to influence an election."
