How record sums of money have shaped Maine’s 2020 elections

The Campaign Legal Center sued the Federal Election Commission earlier this month for failing to act on a complaint it filed in February against SYWSE for its contributions to the 1820 PAC. The Campaign Legal Center claims SYWSE officials illegally made contributions under other names and failed to register and file reports as a political committee, according to court documents.
