Fischer's nonprofit is planning to file a complaint against the de Blasio campaign, first reported by The New York Times, that highlights 25 of the donors who maxed out to the campaign and also gave to the PACs. (He didn’t take into account 2018 contributions, which POLITICO did.) “As you look at it, it seems self-evident what was going on here,” Fischer said. “This seems like an effort to allow a small number of wealthy donors to give thousands above the contribution limits, and the de Blasio campaign seems to have some sort of theory for how that’s permissible.”
