CLC Letter of Support for Senate Markup of Bipartisan AI Legislation

Date

On May 13, 2024, Campaign Legal Center (CLC) sent a letter to the United States Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, expressing strong support for its markup of legislation to address the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on elections. Specifically, it encourages the Senate Rules Committee to advance three bipartisan bills on this topic: S. 2770, the Protect Elections from Deceptive AI Act, S. 3875, the AI Transparency in Elections Act, and S. 3897, the Preparing Election Administrators for AI Act. CLC’s letter details how each of these bills would help address the challenges AI creates for our democracy, and it urges a strong bipartisan vote in the Rules Committee to send them to the full Senate for further consideration.
