'We shouldn't even be doing this' Indiana lawmakers approve redistricting maps

The maps are poised to retain Republicans' 39-11 advantage in the Senate and give Republicans 69 of the 100 House seats, according to Campaign Legal Center's PlanScore analysis based on previous election data. The GOP currently has 71 of 100 House seats. The congressional map also likely will enable Republicans to keep seven of the nine congressional seats in Indiana and make the 5th District, which contains suburban Hamilton County, a more reliably Republican district.
