“What we are seeing in states across the country, not just in Georgia, are many legislative proposals that would take the authority for administering elections away from county and local election officials and place it in the hands of the state legislature, and it’s particularly targeting major cities with large minority populations,” said Jonathan Diaz, legal counsel, voting rights at Campaign Legal Center.
