Senate candidate Jim Renacci uses strip-club owner’s private plane to campaign in Ohio

A man who owns strip clubs in Cleveland has flown Republican Senate nominee Jim Renacci to more than a dozen campaign events since July, including one Tuesday after the congressman from the Akron area skipped two roll-call votes to campaign in Ohio.

Renacci said he paid a total of about $2,500 between January and June for the trips provided by Don Ksiezyk, who owns the Peek-A-Boos and the Bug-A-Boos clubs in Cleveland, according to campaign-finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission. Erin Chlopak, a campaign-finance expert with the Campaign Legal Center, said that although laws were amended several years ago to bar House candidates from traveling in private planes, that ban does not apply to Senate candidates.
