In 2016, Washington, D.C.’s Campaign Legal Center filed a complaint with the FEC against Rebuilding America Now, the primary pro-Trump Super PAC founded that year by then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and real estate mogul Tom Barrack. The main accusation: that The GEO Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary GEO Corrections Holdings Inc. (GCH) contributed $100,000 to Rebuilding America Now on Aug. 19, 2016 – one day after the Obama administration announced that it would be ending the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ use of private prisons. “That same day, GEO Group Inc.’s stock dropped 40 percent,” the complaint says.
