‘Long way to go’ on voting rights restoration, say advocates

Voting rights advocates say thousands of Alabama citizens have regained the ability to vote since the law was changed in 2017, but the state could be doing more to speed the process. The Alabama Voting Rights Project is a collaboration between the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Campaign Legal Center. Boettcher said it works with a wide variety of partner organizations, providing support and training for local voter-registration efforts.
