Here are the legal challenges to Colorado’s new legislative maps

They say the congressional commission didn’t properly interpret requirements in the state constitution, resulting in the dilution of Latino votes. But that didn’t happen in the legislative maps, those same groups said. “​​The Legislative Commission took a wildly different approach than the congressional commission,” said Mark Gaber, an attorney with the national Campaign Legal Center, which is representing LULAC. He cited an expert analysis commissioned by the panel and the consideration of other data.
