Group works to help restore voting rights for Alabamians with convictions

Staff members and volunteers for the Alabama Voting Rights Project (AVRP), a collaboration between Southern Poverty Law Center and Campaign Legal Center, have spent the past nine months assisting Alabama citizens with past convictions by helping them restore their right to vote. To date, AVRP has assisted 2,000 individuals and reached half of the counties in Alabama.
