Federal judges declare Ohio congressional map unconstitutional
A unanimous panel of federal judges on Friday declared Ohio’s Republican-drawn congressional map unconstitutional, adding to a growing number of states where partisan gerrymandering has been outlawed. “The Supreme Court has been looking for years for a manageable legal standard to limit partisan gerrymandering,” said Ruth Greenwood, co-director of voting rights and redistricting at the Campaign Legal Center. “Today’s decision in Ohio now marks the fourth federal court to use the three-part test we proposed.”
