County Responds to Charges of Violating Voting Rights Act

The Yakima County Commissioners have responded to a letter sent to the county earlier this month saying the county was in violation of the Washington Voting Rights Act of 2018 and that the system disenfranchises Latino voters. Earlier this month the Campaign Legal Center on behalf of Yakima County residents Evangelina “Bengie” Aguilar, Susan Soto Palmer, Candy “Dulce” Gutierrez, Rogelio Montes, and OneAmerica sent the letter to the county saying if no action was taken by the county in 180 days they'll take legal action.
