Bernhardt sails through hearing

In another move timed to coincide with today's hearing, the Campaign Legal Center sent Interior's Office of Inspector General a follow-up letter urging further investigation into Bernhardt's recusals and handling of issues related to one of his former clients, the Westlands Water District. Under his ethics pledge signed Aug. 10, 2017, Bernhardt committed not to participate for two years in any "particular matter" on which he lobbied within the two years preceding his Interior appointment.
