A complaint filed Thursday by the Campaign Legal Center on behalf of the League of United Latin American Citizens and the League of Women Voters of Texas cited Abbott’s own words in a previous lawsuit, claiming that “precipitous changes” to election rules close to an election can cause confusion and undermine confidence in the outcome. “For Texas’ absentee voters, the effect of the Oct. 1 order is to unreasonably burden their ability to vote,” said the complaint.
