Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Operations Manager reports to the Sr. Vice President, Operations & Finance and will manage multiple organization-wide projects from initiation to closeout, defining scope, key deliverables, risks, and milestones. This position will work closely with the President to serve as the primary liaison between the organization, Campaign Legal Center’s Board of Trustees, and the Board of Directors for CLC’s affiliate c4 advocacy organization. This position facilitates ongoing active engagement and coordination between the Board and the organization to ensure that the mission and goals of the organization are being realized through sound governance, strategic oversight, and fiduciary direction.



Project Management

  • Improve operational processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
  • Create long and short-term plans, including targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Perform quality control on projects.
  • Collaborate with CLC staff and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively handle project issues and/or risks.

CLC’s Board of Trustees / CLC Action’s Board of Directors

  • Work closely with the President and act as the primary liaison between CLC and its Board of Trustees (includes the management of six committees) and between CLC Action and its Board of Directors.
  • Support the corporate secretary.
  • Work with staff across all organizational departments to prepare staff and Board members for Board meetings.
  • Oversee development, production, and distribution of Board materials and develop meeting agendas.
  • Plan and host Board meetings including meals and travel arrangements.
  • Manage all Board committees, engage committee members on tasks, functions, and strategies.
  • Maintain all Board records, including votes, meeting minutes, contacts, Board giving and meeting attendance.
  • Work with CLC Executive Leadership in managing Board recruitment and develop materials for prospective Board members.
  • Work to enhance Board experience and engagement.
  • Provide miscellaneous and logistical support as needed.
  • Ensure bylaws are regularly updated, reflect the structure and flow of work, and meet all regulatory requirements.



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least five years applied and related work experience
  • Extraordinary people and project management skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to work closely with senior leadership and Board members
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills
