CLC and co-counsel are suing to ensure that the voting strength of Latino voters is not unlawfully diluted in state legislative elections in Washington’s Yakima Valley and Pasco region, that this community can remain together and that Latino voters have an equal opportunity to elect candidates of their choice to the Washington state legislature.
Galveston County, Texas has a long history of diminishing the voting strength of Black and Latino voters in county-wide elections. To enable voters to decide elections’ outcomes, CLC is representing several Galveston County residents to challenge Galveston County’s ongoing discrimination in drawing maps for the Commissioners Court and Justices of the Peace Court in the county.
Federal executive branch officials should make decisions with the public’s best interests in mind. Ethics laws are exist to maintain this high standard. CLC works to hold officials accountable to these laws laws and proposes stricter laws where needed to compel officials to serve the public’s interest instead of their own interests.
